Eric Wowoh came to the United States in 2006 on a refugee resettlement program administered by the U.S. Government and the Catholic Diocese of Acadiana, Louisiana. In 2015, Cardinal Donald Wuerl, then Archbishop of Washington, D.C., presented me with an award from the Migration and Refugee Services of the Conference of Catholic Bishops of America.
